I had the same problem with a t-mobile branded nokia 5610. I used my buyers remorse and returned it to t-mobile. I bought a nice unlocked samsung d900i on ebay. Very glad I did, but with the 5.99 t-zones plan, I somehow still can't run the latest opera mini. Maybe I'll figure out how with all of the port blocking and proxies. Opera mini 3.1 works great though.

I too had the same problem with a nokia 6000 something (whatever the predecessor to the 6263 was). I couldn't use gmail via crappy t-zones; couldn't use 3rd party apps like opera or the gmail app. I raised holy hell with them and finally got them to sell me a better phone - the 6263. That's when I discovered that they had now created their own "email" app and charged texting rates for use of it. So basically, in the end I got jerked around while they devised a way to charge people more. Nice move morons.
